Typical methods for disseminating information through print media and localised channels were failing to adequately engage their target audience which consists of professionals, engineers and decision-makers in the manufacturing sector. To address this challenge, Mitsubishi Electric sought to create a premium magazine that not only highlighted their latest advancements but also captured the essence of ‘monozukuri’, the Japanese art of craftsmanship, which underpinned their commitment to quality and innovation.

To overcome this challenge, UK-based marketing & design agency, Oyster Studios, developed “The Art of Manufacturing – Monozukuri,” a digital company magazine that encapsulated their dedication to precision and technological excellence.

The magazine has been created with a global audience in mind, catering to different languages and cultural nuances. It is designed as a modern, on-brand, visually appealing digital publication akin to ‘inflight magazines’, utilising interactive elements and multimedia components to further engage readers. This approach ensures a dynamic and immersive reading experience that goes beyond the typical print media audiences are used to.

Recognising the importance of reaching a diverse customer base, the magazine is translated into multiple languages, including Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Turkish and English. This ensures easy distribution and consumption, allowing readers to access the content on various devices. This format also enables data tracking and the ability to measure engagement and downloads.
