Exhibition stand design & management for Byrd + Link at AccountEx 2024

Challenge

Audit experts Byrd + Link had never exhibited at a trade fair before, so they wanted to make a big impact with their first appearance at Accountex 2024.

Byrd + Link required assistance not only with the planning and logistics of attending the exhibition, but also with creating a compelling presence at the event that would effectively communicate their brand and services and help them to stand out from the crowd, so Oyster was to provide a full exhibition stand design and management service, along with the creation of promotions to drive interest and footfall.

The project involved navigating the complexities of exhibition participation, including completing all the necessary contracts, orders and booking forms to meet stringent deadlines. Additionally, we needed to develop the stand, a promotional brochure and key messaging that would resonate with Byrd + Link’s target audience of accountancy firms and create an engaging standout experience that would attract visitors. Moreover, Byrd + Link needed a plan and some promotional ideas that would maximise footfall to their stand and ensure a high level of new business leads.

Solution

Oyster provided a comprehensive turnkey solution to ensure the client had a seamless and impactful exhibition experience. We started by conceptualising and designing a visually appealing stand that was on brand and effectively communicated Byrd + Link’s service offer. 

This involved creating initial designs that made maximum use of the relatively small 3m x 3m footprint and then visualising the full stand in 3D, rendering high-quality images to ensure the final build would match the client’s expectations precisely. We then sourced a build contractor and oversaw their construction of the stand, ensuring it matched the approved design and adhered to the client’s exacting specifications.

To further enhance their presence, we created a detailed mini brochure containing case studies and key information about Byrd + Link’s services that was designed to engage and inform visitors at the show and that could also be used for post-event follow-ups. Additionally, we produced an animated video to highlight their key messages and customer testimonials. This was played on a large screen on the stand to draw attention and provide information in an engaging way.

To help Byrd + Link staff engage in conversation and coax visitors onto the stand, we organised a fun and interactive competition – Guess how many jelly beans are in the jar – which punned on the ‘bean counters’ theme prevalent in the accountancy sector. This light-hearted activity was a great conversation starter and the perfect vehicle for lead capture, attracting many attendees to the stand.

To promote their presence at the show and drive pre-event social media engagement, we ran a successful paid LinkedIn campaign targeting senior figures in accountancy firms to encourage them to visit the Byrd + Link stand at Accountex and drive website visits.

Results

Our comprehensive exhibition stand design and management service resulted in a hugely successful debut for Byrd + Link at Accountex 2024. The exhibition stand attracted a significant number of visitors, thanks to its striking design and the engaging competition. 

The animated video and brochure effectively communicated the client’s services, leading to meaningful conversations and interest from attendees. The LinkedIn campaign generated a buzz before the event had even begun, generating hundreds of clicks and website visits, ensuring that Byrd + Link was on the radar of potential clients and partners.

Byrd + Link not only gained valuable leads and business opportunities at Accountex, but also received positive feedback on their professional and approachable presence at the show.
